TD Bank

Cheryl Griffith is SVP, Head of Government Banking, of TD Bank, America’s Most Convenient Bank®. She is responsible for managing the growth and profitability of the Government Banking Department, along with 51 employees from Maine to Florida, $13 Billion in Government Deposits, more than 3000 clients relationships and a portfolio of Municipal short term loans.

Cheryl began her banking career in 1981 as a part-time teller, and remained in Retail Banking, working for Peoples National Bank of Central Jersey and United Jersey Bank, with her last assignment as a Store Manager, from 1987-1998. She then became a Government Banking Officer, and joined TD Bank in 2000. During her tenure she was named “Government Banker of the Year” in 2001.

The fall of 2010 brought a major career milestone when she was promoted SVP – Head of Government Banking for TD Bank. She was a natural choice for this highly influential leadership role because of her industry knowledge and experience, her passion, along with her track record for developing an industry-leading Government Banking Team in New Jersey. Her unique and passionate dedication to capturing the hearts and minds of her team members has resulted in a highly committed, energized and enthusiastic squad that thrives on tremendous teamwork, business partnerships, and executing superior customer service. Upon accepting the position to lead the Government Banking team, Cheryl also accepted the responsibility of transforming the business line, which was unprofitable at the time. Under Cheryl’s leadership, the team impeccably executed an extremely difficult task, and transformed the business line, retrained their client portfolio, and has become a profitable contributor to TD Bank’s bottom line. The TD Bank Government Banking team is now ranked fifth in North America, based on over deposits, which is especially a tremendous accomplishment given that TD is only located on the East Coast.

Cheryl is a member of numerous noteworthy and visible organizations including the National Association of State Treasurers, Association of School Board International and the National Government Finance Officers Association.

Cheryl is an advocate for TD Women in Leadership, and currently participates in numerous mentoring programs within the TD Bank, NA footprint. She mentors numerous employees within TD, both women and men, and has successfully completed TD’s Executive Build for the Future Program. Her newest endeavor is her involvement with the National Diversity Council.

Cheryl is a graduate of American Institute of Banking. She resides in Branchburg, N.J. with her husband and two children.
