Nordis Alvarez
VP & Managing Director
Total Bank

Nordis D. Alvarez is Vice President and Managing Director at TotalBank. Nordis was born and raised in New York City, and she moved to South Florida eight years ago to pursue her career as a banking professional. She values the relationships she has built in our community and prides herself in providing customized business banking solutions and highly-responsive personalized service.

She started her career as a Customer Service Representative at BankAtlantic and worked her way up the corporate ladder. At the age of 22 she was promoted to Vice President and Branch Manager for the bank’s retail office in Kendall, making her the youngest Vice President within the organization. During her tenure at BankAtlantic, Nordis completed training and development programs that refined her management skills and selling
strategies. As part of her Local Market Management training, Nordis analyzed the sales opportunity within her market and developed a plan to enhance her branch’s position through community involvement. As a result of the skills she learned through this program, Nordis was promoted from Vice President and Branch Manager to Vice
President and Market Manager.

Impressed by her track record at BankAtlantic, Executive National Bank, a locally-owned Financial Institution recruited Nordis to manage their South Miami Branch in 2010. She served as Vice President, Branch Manager and Business Developer. Nordis’s job was to expand existing relationships and attract new ones by getting involved in the community.

In her current role as Vice President and Managing Director for TotalBank, Nordis is charged with developing business partnerships within her community, expanding the existing clientele base, and creating an engaging environment within her team. To support the local community, Nordis actively participates and holds leadership roles in various Business and Philanthropic Organizations including: Women’s Chamber of Commerce of Miami-Dade County (President), Young Philanthropists of Baptist Health (Steering and Development committee member), Greater Miami Chamber of Commerce, The Commonwealth Institute, and Women of Tomorrow (Mentor).

Nordis strives to exceed expectations and is devoted to making a difference in the lives of her clients, her colleagues, and the community. She is passionate and fully devoted to the welfare of children and organizations that promote it. During her leisure time, Nordis enjoys going on road trips with her husband.
