Vicky Garcia is the Chief Operating Officer (COO) and co-owner of Cruise Planners, an American Express Travel Representative, where she oversees the marketing, group inventory, franchise sales, as well as the operations department. She is now among the most respected women in travel, and her hard-working path is what led her there.
As a Cuban American female growing up in South Florida, Garcia was never the academic type, but was always interested in learning – in her own way. At a young age, she jumped into the corporate world at Royal Caribbean International, which in hindsight launched her travel career. As a self-labeled “techie,” she is always interested in the next big thing and her natural curiosity and quick wit have served her well.
Vicky believes she has a responsibility to give back and encourages others around her to follow suit. Her contagious spirit and commitment to charity work helped create “CP Cares” a program dedicated to raising and donating funds to charity.
Despite her demanding career, Vicky spearheaded a 10-week campaign raising an unprecedented $115,000 to support lifesaving blood cancer research and was named The Leukemia and Lymphoma Society’s Women of the Year. She continues to be involved and currently sits on the Board of Trustees and has helped the organization raised more than $1 million.
Vicky continues to be a beacon of strength and believes that a foundation of giving back, remembering where your roots and surrounding yourself with a hard-working team makes you a better person.
