Yvette Brown

Yvette Brown, M.S., Vice President for Technology & Chief Information Officer, Barry University. Yvette joined Barry University in 1990 and held several technology positions at the university before being named CIO in 2008. She earned a bachelor’s in Computer Science and master’s in Management Information Systems from Barry University and is also certified in the Governance of Enterprise IT (CGEIT).

As a member of the Executive Committee of the Administration, Yvette guides policy development and provides broad oversight for the strategic deployment
of technology systems and information resources in support of the university’s academic and administrative functions. She oversees Client Services (IT Service Desk, Desktop Support, and Computer Lab Management), Infrastructure & Operations (Datacenter, Software Solutions Management, Network Operations Center and Media and Conferencing), Information Security, the IT Project Office, Workplace & Instructional Technologies Services, Administrative Information Systems and the University Library.

Yvette chairs the university¹s Technology Advisory Committee, and acts as the primary institutional representative for several higher education technology groups. She is also the current President for South Florida Instructional Television (SFITV). Prior to joining Barry University, Yvette gained valuable experience in various IT professional roles, including software applications development and solutions consulting.
