NERISSA E. MORRIS joined the University of Miami in October 2009 as Vice President for Human Resources. She oversees university-wide human resources operations including total rewards (compensation, payroll, benefits, and recognition), client services, talent acquisition, workplace equity and performance management and workforce engagement and development. Prior to joining the University, Ms. Morris had more than 20 years of human resources experience with the Ford Motor Company. During that time she held senior human resources positions with Ford in the U.S. and Brazil, as well as with Volvo Car Corporation in Sweden. She holds a Bachelor of Science in Business Administration and Master of Business Administration from Xavier University in Cincinnati, Ohio. She is maintains professional memberships Society for Human Resources Management (GMSHRM) and College and University Professional Association for Human Resources (CUPA –HR) where she serves as a member of the national Board of Directors and Vice Chair of the Learning and Development Committee. She is also serves the human resources and Miami communities through the Evanta CHRO Summit Governing Body, the Miami Children’s Initiative Board of Trustees, the American Red Cross of Greater Miami and the Keys Board of Trustees, and United Way of Miami Dade Finance and Administration Committee.
