Leah Montoya

Leah is the System Vice President for Care Management Services for Ingalls Health System in Chicago, IL. In her role, she has oversight over the following areas: Care Management; Social Work; Utilization & Denial Management; RAC program; and Clinical Documentation Improvement. In addition, Leah has joint responsibility for the system’s ACO. She has 25 years of healthcare experience and is a Six Sigma Green Belt. She obtained her Bachelors of Science in Nursing from Loyola University Chicago and her Masters in Health Administration from University of St Francis in Joliet, IL. She won the 2007 ACMA Innovation Award for the Illinois Chapter, and is last year’s national recipient of the Richard L. Doyle Award for Innovation and Leadership in Healthcare. She is a past member of the board of directors for the Illinois Chapter of the American Case Management Association (ACMA), active member of The American Organization of Nurse Executives (AONE), and the 2015 Chair of the National Board of Directors for EHR’s Client Advisory Group. Leah is a national speaker in care management and clinical documentation and has presented at ANA, ACMA, Hearst Health/MCG client forums, and has hosted webinars for Indian Health Services and The National Council on Data & Analytics, Washington, D.C.
