Alison Smith

Alison Smith is a partner at the law firm of Weiss Serota Helfman Cole & Bierman P.L. Her primary area of practice is labor and employment law. Ms. Smith graduated magna cum laude from Nova Southeastern University Law School in 2003 and was the valedictorian. In 2014, Ms. Smith was named as a Florida Rising Star by the Super Lawyers publication, and received three separate awards for being: one of the top 40 professionals under 40 in South Florida; one of the top 40 rising star attorneys in South Florida; and one of the top 40 leaders under 40 in Broward County. In 2015, Ms. Smith was named as a Top Up and Comer by the South Florida Legal Guide, was named one of South Florida’s Most Powerful and Influential Women by the Florida Diversity Council, was again named as a Florida Rising Star by the Super Lawyers publication, was selected as one of the top 40 attorneys under the age of 40 by the Cystic Fibrosis Foundation, and was nominated for a Distinguished Alumni award by her alma mater, Nova Southeastern University, where she obtained her undergraduate and law degrees.

Ms. Smith is the Vice Chair of the Board of Directors of Legal Aid Service of Broward County and Coast to Coast Legal Aid of South Florida, Inc., as well as a member of the 17th Judicial Circuit’s Professionalism Panel. She is also a member of the Leadership Training and Development Committee of the Broward League of Cities and was recently installed as a director on the Broward County Bar Association’s Board of Directors.
